A note from (and about) Anna Dillon

Anna Dillon is the pen name of best selling Irish writer, Michael Scott. In a recent interview, he explained where and how the Anna Dillon name came about.

"Anna Dillon is probably my best known pen name.  In 1986 I approached my publishers with an idea for a big historical series I wanted to do.  They loved the idea, but felt that it would be better coming out under a pen name.  They were right of course.

Anna Dillon's Seasons series was a huge success, and over the years the "Anna Dillon" titles have consistently outsold "Michael Scott" titles. Everything about the books - the style of writing, the subject matter, is completely different from everything else I write."

Image...

Image, which appears in paperback as a Michael Scott, was published in hardback as an Anna Dillon.  That publisher had previously bought the other Anna Dillon titles in hardback and did not want to add another author's name to their list!

Lottery...

Lottery was published under Michael's real name, although it was written as an Anna Dillon, but, like the publisher above, they did not want to add a new name to their lists. They had also previously published several of Michael's Young Adult and childrens titles.

Lies

The Lies cover to the right was never used - the publisher went into liquidation before the book was issued.
